Video: iPod integration in Aston Martin DBS
I'd prefer to own an Aston Martin of course but I was already quite happy to get the chance to check out what kind of iPod integration Aston Martin provides for their rich clients.
The iPod integration is relatively simple but it works quite well. A USB connection is present in the central console between the passenger seat in which you can plug in a standard iPod USB connector to hook up to the system.
A small display on the central dashboard will render your iPod information for browsing and selecting music. Controlling the iPod is done by using an central up-down-left-right joystick in the centre and a few separate buttons. Steering wheel controls can be used for volume control and next/previous track but not for full browsing in the iPod menu.
The system is quite nice allthough I didn't find a way to quickly browse through a long list of items. If you're in your albums list for example you need to single-click down on the central joystick until you find the album you want. From what I could see, there is no quick search system.
iPod integration works the same way in the Aston Martin Vantage.
